Meet our Outreach Specialist

My name is Brittany McClure, I am the Outreach Specialist for The Tree House. I started my position here three short weeks ago, and have loved every minute of it! I've always heard the expression that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. Being with The Tree House, I've found that dream job where I love what I do and I have fun doing it. I realized throughout my career path that I love outreach and being in my community to make a difference. When I saw this position available at The Tree House I felt that it would give me the ability to do that.

As the Outreach Specialist my job is to go out into our community, and use social media to increase awareness on child abuse. I get to help educate the public so they have the resources and knowledge to help us in our fight to prevent it from happening. Being able to go and educate on such an important subject means a lot to me because I have a child of my own.

The Tree House serves Banks, Barrow, and Jackson counties. I grew up in Banks County and have worked in Jackson County for several years. When I saw the counties that The Tree House serves I knew it made sense for me to choose a job where I could serve both counties and impact a community where I grew up and where I am raising a family. My position also allows me to grow my resources and serve Barrow County as well.

My hope in this role is to grow as a person and become more outspoken and independent. To grow in marketing and social experience, to get to know more community members and leaders throughout all three communities. I also want to grow exposure for The Tree House, to let people know our mission and to educate on child abuse so that we can prevent it from happening. Child abuse can be a difficult subject to talk about, but its an important topic of discussion. I have a four year old child of my own, so educating on and preventing child abuse holds very important to me.

The biggest impact I want to make here at The Tree House is to increase awareness and donations for our organization so we can grow to help more children and families heal from abuse. The more we educate, the more we can prevent. The more donations we receive from monetary donations, to supplies for our clients and staff, the more we are able to supply for our children and families that use our services.

I hope to look back on my journey with The Tree House and see the impact that I have made. I hope to see more children and families served all across Banks, Barrow, and Jackson counties. I hope to have grown our community support and awareness for child abuse. I hope to be an example for my child to follow your heart and work hard, to make a difference for the better, to be a servant. I am thankful for this opportunity and look to help create a brighter future for all of our children! #GreatChildhoodsBeginWithAllOfUs
